Add some Australian flair to your tack trunk
Back by popular demand, we have chosen the Australian or barcoo-style bridle as our giveaway item for November–so if you’ve been craving downunder style, this is your time to strike!
Our Australian-style bridle is rugged yet simply elegant, letting your horse’s facial structure shine through without a noseband. This bridle is simple and light, making it a great option for Western or trail riders, or even a good back-up bridle to have with you in a pinch.
As with all our bridles, it’s double-stitched for added depth and strength, and the industry-tested beta biothane is tough enough to deal with whatever your horse can throw at it without so much as a single crack or sun faded spot.
Entering our tack giveaway is so simple–we don’t demand that you share the contest on your every social media profile (although if you want to, we’d appreciate it). All you have to do is fill out a short form and–BONUS–you automatically get a $5 coupon code after form submission just for entering. Check it out.
Congratulations to Harley!
Here at Two Horse Tack, we love seeing horses excel in disciplines that are off the beaten path for their breed. That’s why we were excited to meet Harley, the winner of one of our September tack giveaways.
Harley is seven years old and together with her person Bobbie, competes in Western dressage and will soon be making the leap into endurance riding. Many people think of endurance riding as primarily made up of Arabians or Arab crosses, and Western riding is usually dominated by Quarter Horses or Paints. A lot of people had their breed stereotypes adjusted at the Retired Racehorse Training Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover Event in late October, however.
The event, which was designed to showcase the versatility of off-track Thoroughbreds, featured horses (who had not been off the track for long) competing in barrel racing, working ranch, and competitive trail classes. Some 350 horses from 44 states and three countries competed at the multi-discipline show, which demonstrated among other things that horses and their talents often reach beyond stereotypes.
Congratulations to Harley and Bobbie for going their own way, and for winning a free Australian/barcoo style bridle. This rugged yet simple design will show off Harley’s gorgeous face, whether they are on the trail or working at home, and like all our beta biothane tack, is incredibly easy to clean.

Congratulations to Jen and Sidney Rain!
Sidney Rain isn’t pulling a sulkey anymore, but that doesn’t mean his racing days are over. The 15-year-old Standardbred has transitioned to a new career with his human Jen.
Jen adopted Sidney four years ago from the American Standardbred Adoption Program and describes him as “my big love.” The pair are in the midst of their second full season of endurance riding and the ex-racehorse loves his new gig.
“He loves just being at ride camp and going new places,” Jen told us. “Zooming through the woods is one of our favorite things to do, whether training or at a competition.”
Jen and Sidney’s second competition season got a little easier when they became the winners of September’s exclusive tack giveaway that we offered in partnership with Green Bean Endurance. They have won a custom Australian style bridle from Two Horse Tack. Endurance riders love our beta biothane pieces because they don’t stiffen or fade with sweat, and they are super light and soft on horses’ skin.
Jealous of Jen’s new swag? We’re giving away another Australian bridle this month, thanks to popular demand. You’ll even get a $5 coupon if you enter. Just fill out a short form on our website and you’re in.
It’s Never Too Late To Follow Your Equine Dreams!
Today’s bit of equine inspiration comes from Lisa and her horse, Torrent, who were the winners of our September tack giveaway!
We always ask the humans who win our tack giveaways to tell us a little about themselves and their horses, and we found Torrent’s story especially touching.
Lisa and her sister had long harbored a love for horses since they were girls and several years ago, the two decided to start taking riding lessons together. Unfortunately, Lisa’s sister’s breast cancer returned just after they began and within six months she lost her battle. Lisa gave herself some time to heal but ultimately found herself looking for a horse of her own.
“When I saw Torrent’s picture, I had a feeling he might be the right horse for me. He was gorgeous, with a very kind eye,” she told us. “He was the only horse who stopped eating and came over, he looked at Denise—the breeder/owner, Roxanne—my friend, and then me—before coming up to me and placing his head on my chest. Denise said, ‘This is only the second time I’ve seen one of my horse’s pick his person like that.’
“That was it!! I know my sister was there in spirit that day, also giving her approval. Torrent is a sensitive, kind, funny, amazing horse. I feel so privileged to be his ‘person.'”
Torrent’s full name is Feathered Gold Blue Torrent, and he is a 5-year-old Gypsy Vanner gelding. For Lisa, age 56, the takeaway from her journey with torrent is that it’s “never too late to follow your dreams.”
Torrent and Lisa will get a free Australian/barcoo-style bridle of their very own, which should allow Torrent’s bold facial features to shine through. Jealous of the rugged-yet-durable style of our fully adjustable Australian bridle? You’ve got a shot at getting your own in this month’s giveaway! Enter here.
